These terms of use apply to every use of TripFavo, the website and platform that connects guests looking for accommodation with hosts who offer it. By creating an account or using TripFavo you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully, together with our privacy policy.
1. Who we are
TripFavo is operated by:
Rocket Science B.V.Top Naefflaan 561403 GB BussumThe NetherlandsChamber of Commerce (KvK): 68760205VAT: NL857579770B01Email: email@rocketsciencebv.nlIn these terms, "TripFavo", "we" and "us" refer to Rocket Science B.V.; "you" means any user, whether as a guest, a host or a visitor.
2. Our role
TripFavo is an online platform. Hosts publish listings, guests send booking requests and hosts decide whether to accept them. We do not own, manage or rent out any accommodation and we are not a travel agent or tour operator.
When a host accepts a booking request, the agreement for the stay is concluded directly between the guest and the host. TripFavo is not a party to that agreement and does not guarantee the quality, safety or legality of a listing or the conduct of any user.
3. Your account
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
- Provide correct and complete information and keep it up to date. You must verify your email address before you can use all features.
- Keep your password secret. You are responsible for what happens through your account; tell us immediately if you suspect misuse.
- An account is personal and may not be transferred to someone else.
4. Booking requests and bookings
- A booking made on TripFavo is a request: you choose dates and the number of guests and send the request to the host.
- The host accepts or declines the request within 48 hours. If the host does not respond in time, the request expires automatically.
- Only when the host accepts the request does it become a confirmed booking. We notify both of you by email.
- The prices shown are set by the host. Check the price breakdown, the dates and the listing details before you send a request.
5. Payments
TripFavo currently does not process any payments. Payment of the stay, any deposit and other costs is arranged directly between the guest and the host, under the host's own payment, cancellation and refund terms. Make sure you agree on these terms before you pay. We are not responsible for payments, refunds or deposits between guests and hosts.
6. Cancellation
- As a guest you can cancel a pending booking request at any time, free of charge via TripFavo.
- You can cancel a confirmed booking via TripFavo until the day before your arrival date (French time). From the arrival date onwards, contact the host directly. Whether you are entitled to a refund of any amount you have already paid is determined by the host's cancellation and refund terms and the applicable law.
- As a host you can cancel a confirmed booking via TripFavo until the day before the guest's arrival date (French time). You must give a reason, which we show to the guest on the booking and in the email telling them about the cancellation. A pending booking request is declined, not cancelled.
- We record every cancellation by a host. Repeated or unjustified cancellations may lead to the measures described under Acceptable use and Reporting content and complaints.
- TripFavo does not process payments. A host who cancels a confirmed booking settles any amounts the guest has already paid directly with the guest, in line with their agreement and the law.
7. Responsibilities of hosts
As a host you are responsible for, among other things:
- listings that are accurate, complete and not misleading, including the description, photos, address, capacity, amenities and prices;
- only listing accommodation that you are entitled to rent out (for example as owner or with the permission of the owner, landlord or owners' association);
- complying with all applicable laws and rules, such as local registration numbers and permits for short-term rental, maximum numbers of nights, safety and fire regulations, and collecting and paying tourist tax;
- declaring your rental income and paying the taxes due, and having suitable insurance;
- responding to booking requests in time and honouring confirmed bookings.
8. Responsibilities of guests
- Respect the house rules of the host and the agreed number of guests.
- Treat the accommodation and its neighbours with care. You are liable for damage you cause, in accordance with the law and your agreement with the host.
9. Messages between guests and hosts
From the moment a booking request is sent, the guest and the host can write to each other in TripFavo about that booking. The conversation can only be read by the two of them. It closes for new messages when the request is declined or expires, 14 days after a cancellation and 14 days after check-out; you can still read it afterwards.
- Use messages only for the booking they belong to: questions about the stay, arrival and practical arrangements.
- The rules in Acceptable use apply to every message: no harassment, discrimination, threats, spam or unlawful content.
- Never send passwords or payment card details in a message.
- To prevent abuse we limit how many messages you can send in a short time.
If you receive a message that is abusive or illegal, report it as described in Reporting content and complaints, and mention the booking it concerns.
10. Acceptable use
When using TripFavo you must not:
- provide false information, impersonate someone else or publish fake listings;
- commit or attempt fraud, or use TripFavo for any unlawful purpose;
- discriminate against, harass or threaten other users;
- publish content that is unlawful, offensive or that infringes the rights of others;
- circumvent or test our security, overload the platform, or collect data from it automatically (scraping) without our permission;
- send spam or unsolicited advertising to other users.
We may remove content, refuse or cancel booking requests, and restrict, suspend or close accounts that violate these terms or the law. We tell you why and how you can object, as described in Reporting content and complaints.
11. Reporting content and complaints
Reporting illegal content
If you believe that a listing, photo, text or other content on TripFavo is illegal or infringes your rights, report it to us by email at email@rocketsciencebv.nl. Please include:
- the web address (URL) of the listing or content, and any other detail that helps us find it;
- a sufficiently substantiated explanation of why you consider the content illegal or infringing;
- your name and email address, unless your report concerns child sexual abuse material or another offence for which you may stay anonymous;
- a statement that you make the report in good faith and that the information in it is accurate and complete.
We confirm receipt without undue delay, handle your report diligently, objectively and in a timely manner, and tell you what we decided and which options you have to challenge that decision.
Single point of contact
Authorities of the EU member states, the European Commission, the European Board for Digital Services and users can contact us directly at email@rocketsciencebv.nl, in English, French or Dutch. This is our single point of contact under articles 11 and 12 of the EU Digital Services Act.
When we restrict content or an account
If we remove or disable access to content, limit the visibility of a listing, or restrict, suspend or close your account, we tell you by email at the latest when the measure takes effect. We explain what we decided and its scope, the facts and circumstances, whether we consider the content illegal or contrary to these terms (and on which basis), and how you can object.
Objecting to a decision
You can object to a decision on a report or about your content or account, free of charge, by email to email@rocketsciencebv.nl within six months. Tell us which decision you object to and why. We review your objection diligently and without discrimination, reply within a reasonable time, and reverse the decision if it turns out to be unjustified. This does not affect your right to go to court.
Hosts acting in a business capacity
If you offer accommodation as a business, the EU Platform-to-Business Regulation applies to our relationship. Before we restrict or suspend your listings or account, we tell you the reasons by email; before we end our services to you entirely, we give you at least 30 days' notice. We may act without prior notice, telling you the reasons at the latest when the measure takes effect, where a legal or regulatory obligation requires it, or in case of fraud, illegal content, a risk to safety, other abuse or repeated violations of these terms. You can object as described above.
Listings are not ranked or promoted, and no one can pay for a better position: the overview shows all published listings, the most recently created listing first.
12. Your content and licence
You keep all rights to the photos, texts and other content you upload ("your content"). You confirm that you are entitled to upload it and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights, including the privacy of people shown in photos.
You grant Rocket Science B.V. a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to store, reproduce, adapt (for example resize or crop), display and publish your content, for as long as it is on TripFavo, to the extent necessary to operate and show the platform. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies that we must keep by law or that are still in backups for a limited period.
13. Our intellectual property
The TripFavo name and logo, the design of the website and the software belong to Rocket Science B.V. or its licensors. You may not copy or use them without our prior written permission, except as needed to use the platform normally.
14. Availability of the platform
We do our best to keep TripFavo available and working properly, but we cannot guarantee that it will always be available or free of errors. We may change, suspend or discontinue features, for example for maintenance or security reasons.
15. Liability
Because TripFavo only brings guests and hosts together, we are not liable for the accommodation, the stay, the accuracy of listings, payments between users, or the acts or omissions of guests and hosts.
To the extent permitted by law, our liability for damage arising from the use of TripFavo is limited to direct damage. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damage, such as lost profit or missed savings.
These limitations do not apply to damage caused by our intent or gross negligence, to death or personal injury, or where mandatory law (including consumer law) does not allow them.
16. Ending your use
You can stop using TripFavo at any time and ask us to delete your account by emailing email@rocketsciencebv.nl. Bookings already confirmed remain an agreement between guest and host. The sections on liability, content and applicable law continue to apply after your account has ended.
17. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms, for example when we add features or when the law changes. We will inform you of significant changes by email or on the website at least 30 days before they take effect. If you do not agree with the changes, you can close your account before that date; if you continue to use TripFavo afterwards, the new terms apply.
18. Applicable law and disputes
These terms and the use of TripFavo are governed by Dutch law. Disputes will be submitted to the competent court in the district of Midden-Nederland, unless mandatory law designates another court.
If you are a consumer living in another EU country, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the law of your country of residence and you may also bring proceedings before the courts there. We are always happy to look for a solution together first.
